Privacy policy for founding places
Last updated 1 November 2026.
Who we are
Be Again and RecoverAI are trading names of Daniel Mahoney, a sole trader based in the UK. Daniel is the controller of your information, which means he decides how it’s used. You can contact us at hello@beagain.app. If we set up a company to run Be Again, we’ll tell you before your information moves to it.
What we collect
When you save a founding place we collect your email address, which phone you use, whether you’d like news and offers, where on the site you signed up, and when you confirm your email. We never ask about your history.
The form also has an optional question about where you’re at right now (wanting support with your recovery, wanting help supporting someone you love, or questioning your drinking or drug use). Your answer says something about your health, or the health of someone close to you, so it’s sensitive information. We keep it only if you tick the box under the question to say we can. That’s your explicit consent. We use your answer only to send you the right updates, and you can withdraw your consent at any time without losing your place.
Founding places, and Be Again itself, are for adults 18 and over.
Why we use it
We use your email to manage your founding place and to send you messages about it, such as confirming your email and telling you how to claim your place when we launch. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in keeping our promise to you. We only send news, updates and offers if you ticked the box for them, and you can stop them at any time.
The chat on this website
Replies aren’t switched on yet. Until they are, what you type in the chat stays in your browser and isn’t sent anywhere. Before we switch replies on, we’ll update this section to explain exactly where messages go and which AI providers help write the replies.
If you enquire for a clinic
We keep your name, role, organisation, email, phone number if you give it, the size of your service if you tell us, and any demo time you choose, so we can arrange the demo and follow up. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry. We only send you news about Be Again for clinics if you ticked the box for it.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use cookies or tracking. Fonts and images are served from our own site.
Who helps us
We don’t sell your information. We use a few trusted companies to run this site. Vercel hosts it and keeps short technical logs of visits. Supabase stores sign-ups and clinic enquiries in London. Resend sends our emails, and our email provider holds the messages we send and receive. Some of these companies are based in the US and may store or access some information there, for example email delivery logs. Where that happens, we rely on their data protection terms, which use safeguards approved for transfers from the UK, such as the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses. Ask us if you’d like details.
How long we keep it
If you don’t confirm your email, we delete your details after 14 days. We keep your founding place until 24 months after launch, or until you ask us to remove it. We delete your answer to “Which sounds most like you right now?” at launch, or sooner if you ask. We keep clinic enquiries for 12 months after our last contact.
Your rights
You can ask to see your information, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, get a copy to take elsewhere, or object to how we use it. You can take back any consent you’ve given at any time, and it won’t affect your place. Email hello@beagain.app and we’ll reply within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first and we’ll look into it properly. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
